Taser Circuit

In Summer 2025, I developed a growing interest in high-voltage electronics and used this project as a fun way to strengthen my intuition for analog circuit fundamentals. I designed and iteratively refined a high-voltage taser circuit, revisiting it over time as my electrical engineering knowledge deepened through coursework and industry experience.

The circuit incorporates a 15kV step-up tapped transformer, 555 timer, TIP120 NPN Darlington transistor, and a daisy chain of diodes and capacitors. Here’s a video of me lighting my birthday candle with the taser.
